Clearly you completely ignored the video clip I sent you directly from the EAC meeting in which EAC legal counsel stated “the executive order itself does not rescind prior certifications. It asks the EAC to consider that following a process of adoption of updated standards.”
The EO does NOT supersede EAC’s VVSG Lifecycle Policy
“A new version of VVSG does not decertify existing systems or indicate that older systems are insecure or unreliable.
The EAC adopted its VVSG Lifecycle Policy in 2022, under which vendors are generally required to submit new systems for testing of adherence to the latest standards. But even after the adoption of VVSG 2.0, vendors may continue to sell equipment certified to VVSG 1.0 unless the EAC formally decertifies it. The policy also makes it possible for vendors to keep their 1.0-certified systems secure by carving out a process for security updates and bug fixes to these systems.”
this segment was recorded Sunday before you sent the clip, Kelley.
I also am not accepting one person’s interpretation. Everything is up in the air right now, rules are conveniently being ignored or twisted where the admin wants to, so I will reserve my judgment for what actually happens.
Ah, ok. I did send it early Monday morning. The one person is the EAC’s legal counsel, though that could be challenged. However the exact language of the Executive Order: Section 4(b)(ii) of the EO: "Within 180 days of the date of this order, the Election Assistance Commission shall take appropriate action to review and, IF APPROPRIATE , re-certify voting systems under the new standards established under subsection (b)(i) of this section, and to rescind all previous certifications of voting equipment based on prior standards."
General consensus among the most reasonable election integrity activists is that voting machines are not going to be decertified when new ones have not yet been certified under the new VVSGs.
I agree 100% that we should reserve judgment for what actually happens. But that is not what is going on, from the Brennan Center to Substack posts. It gets more attention, more clicks, more views, keeping everyone in a frenzy, addicted, waiting for the next “Orange Cheeto man fascist dictator” fix to say Trump is going to “take over our elections!”….a continuation of RussiaGate, really. While that story, the biggest scandal in US history, the BIG LIE that Russia hacked the DNC & put Trump in office the first time, THAT story, that is still affecting half the country’s ability to understand WTF is actually going on…..NAH
