Thank you for this! Considering Substack vs YouTube for my live-streaming platform, mixing up podcast recordings with guests and solo song and story sessions. Do you recommend rtmp, or would using the Substack app make more sense? Or just sticking with YouTube for now? Thanks again for the info! Hope the team sees this and acts on it
My recommendation would be either RTMP to multi - including YT and Substack or just go live to YT and upload the video to Substack as a video post afterwards, which emails out and gives you a permanent URL.
The Substack livestream doesn't flow through after the stream is over. You'd need to publish it as a post after the stream, and it then gets a different permanent URL from the live.
I am actually publishing a new video tomorrow with a full tutorial on uploading and creating a video post here, not from a livestream.
I never did with that week, and after a few days I was able to “Revert” - it’s been sitting as a draft, that was 3 weeks ago. Not sure if i should publish it & back date it or not even bother
Debateable, it’s just another place for the livestream- it’s on YT Rumble X Spotify Bitchute permanently & Odysee too, so no harm having it on here too

Did you publish the video post with the recording Substack created or did you have to create a post of your own due to the freezing issue?

OK that makes sense. I’m wanting to take advantage of having guests on a livestream in substack, but I think that’s only a mobile thing.
I’m using Ecamm Live for streaming anyway, so I’ll bring the guest on there and then stream to YT (and maybe Substack if it’s not too much hassle)
From my personal perspective, using RTMP and your usual streaming software is a far superior UX.
You also can't present or share your screen in the mobile app.
Thank you 🫡
This Sunday’s after the crash, I just uploaded the recording to a new video post

Three weeks means it makes no difference. I reckon do whatever is easiest for you.
Is the content of the Livestream even still relevant? Is it worth publishing the recording?
