Let us hope that this is the end of it for him. Although the re-imprisonment of Chelsea Manning has shown that U.S. government officials can go to any lengths in pursuit of their goals.

But after 5 years what has been lost along the way? Does he even know his wife and kids at this point? He has lost time, and so the regime has proven their point to him and through him.

That said, this is a major blow to them, and shows how they are weakening so let us hope they continue to slide away down the way of the Dodo.

I will raise a glass to him and an amazing investigative journalist who I nursed in palliative care 5 years ago. He said “I have made peace with nearly everything in my life, but yet I regret that I will not live long enough to see the freeing of Julian Assange and the demise of Murdoch!” Slainge Julian and Andrew 🥃

the tears have been flowing since 7pm tonight. It's far from the win we all wanted, but him being free is a win we'll take for today. And fight tomorrow for them to STILL drop the charges. The link to the 4-page plea agreement is in there too. He has to show up in the Northern Maraina Islands to plead guilty in person, at which time the US could still possibly take him into custody. We are FAR from out of the woods. On top of the fact that he was forced to plead guilty for his freedom, when he did nothing wrong - which every other top journalist & outlet in the world would do.

Do you think Assange may potentially be lead into a trap and as soon as he pleads guilty in-person while on US soil, he will be grabbed?

I'll worry about that tomorrow, but of course, man. This was too easy in a process that has not been made easy for one second. Why start now?

Why can't he enter a plea without setting foot on US soil? Is there a legal precedence for that, especially if a plea bargain is involved?
